Slack Integration

Connect Slack with WorkZappy to receive real-time project and work-related notifications, create or update tasks directly from Slack, and convert messages into WorkZappy work items.

Key Capabilities​

Once integrated, any user in your organization can:

  • Receive Slack notifications for updates on WorkZappy work items.
  • Convert Slack messages into WorkZappy work.
  • Create new LeWorkZappyiga work directly within Slack.

Integration Setup​

Requirements: Admin permissions in both WorkZappy and the Slack workspace.

  1. In WorkZappy, click your avatar in the bottom-left corner and select Integrations.
  2. Locate Slack on the integrations overview or go to Settings > Apps and Integrations > Slack.
  3. Click Get App to begin authorization.
  4. Grant permissions to the appropriate Slack workspace.
  5. A welcome message from the WorkZappy Bot will appear in Slack upon successful integration.

You can authorize multiple Slack workspaces. All authorized workspaces are listed in the integration settings.

Receive Notifications in Slack​

Step 1: Link WorkZappy with Slack

  • In Slack, open the WorkZappy Bot app.
  • Click Log in and complete the authorization process.

Step 2: Configure Personal Notifications

  • In WorkZappy, go to Notification Settings.
  • Select events you'd like to be notified about.
  • Choose Slack as a delivery channel.

Step 3: Set Up Automation (Optional)

  • Create custom automation rules in WorkZappy to push specific event-based messages to Slack.

Create WorkZappy Work from Slack​

Convert Slack Message to WorkZappy Work

  1. Hover over any message in Slack.
  2. Click the More actions icon .
  3. Select Create Issue.
  4. The message content will populate the work description (and title if under 100 characters).
  5. Complete required fields and submit.

Create Work with a Slash Command

  1. Type /workzappy create in any Slack channel.
  2. In the dialog, choose the work type, add summary and details.
  3. Submit to create the work item in WorkZappy.

Comment from Slack

  • When mentioned in a WorkZappy comment or epic, a Slack notification appears via the WorkZappy Bot.
  • Reply directly in the Slack thread to push a comment back to WorkZappy.
